Good Passing Game, But Not Good Enough

How is it possible to be ranked 8th in the league in passing and be in damn near last place? This is what many Lions fans are wondering. The slew of young arms they have, have combined to be in the top ten in the NFL for passing. I don't know how this is possible. But go figure the Lions find a way to lose. These young arms need to throw! Why should they not, they have the worst running game in the league (28th ranked). Well if these quarterbacks didnt get sacked all the time maybe they would be in first in passing. But for now, they are going too be the best worst team by passing all the time.

Just How Good Are They

You know, these world class professional athletes are really good. They have seemed to lose to the worst teams. I mean, how do you really lose to Buffalo, a no win team. These pros seem to have gotten used to being the worst. They have even lost to this random group of power puff football girls. Is that surprising? No, it isn't surprising at all. The score above explains it all. You know, I don't even know if they are the best of the worst. I guess we will be able to tell after the season, but for now the Lions are the WORST!

Close Doesnt Cut it

Although the Lions are the best worst team, the Lions have been in every game. These scrubs have been close in every game this season. This seems to be good, but Detroit fans dont accept close. But until then, their close just doesnt cut it, although we all let it be enough for our pleasure. Sometimes close cuts it, but not now with the past seasons being the worst ever. Wow this team needs to pull it together. I mean really. they have had how many first round draft picks. And they always get the best (Jahvid Best) young talent, but they can never do anything with it. We will have to see how long they stay healthy. Just ask the healthy players on the team ( Matt Stafford) what its like top win a game. I don't think he even knows, because he is always hurt and on the bench. But when the day comes, they wont be just close. They might actually take their young talent, who can't stay healthy and win.

Lions Line

Detroit has not had much of an offensive line since the glory days of running back Barry Sanders. This season two of the Lions qurterbacks (Hill and Stafford) have gotten hurt and will miss the rest of  season. You could get better protection from a 25 cent vending machine in the mens bathroom than you get for the Detroit offensive line. They need to make some major changes to fix their offensive line problems. I'm not sure if that means a better coach or if it means a whole new line but something must change.

Best Receiver Worst Team

Detroit has one of the NFL's best ever wide receivers. Calvin Johnson has some of the best hands in the NFL (even though we has a problem with pre-celebration), he is the leading receiver by far for Detroit and is one of the best receivers in the NFL this year. If the lions lost him, their 2-10 record would  have very easily been a 0-12. The Lions mind as well have a bunch of Pop Warner kids running around out there with Calvin because they would never throw to anyone besides him anyway. They rely way to much on the talents of Calvin Johnson and IF they ever do trade him the will realize how much they really did need him.

Change Name

Though the Detroit Lions name makes them sound fierce and tough, they really are a bunch of "Kittens". The lions who are the best worst team in the NFL have made strides forward but still they come up short in almost all of their games. As soon as they get down they become kittens more than they become lions. They just put their heads down and become the center of a lot of media humor. Hence i am making this post to say i believe that the Detroit Lions franchise should change their names from the Detroit Lions to the Detroit Kittens.
